Hindus Express Condolences On Thai Buddhist Patriarch Nyanasamvara’s Death‏

Hindus have offered heartfelt condolences on the death of Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, the Supreme Buddhist Patriarch of Thailand revered worldwide, on October 24 in Bangkok (Thailand).

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that they were saddened by the passing of Patriarch Nyanasamvara, 100, influential spiritual leader of Buddhists. He would be greatly missed.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, voiced appreciation for Patriarch Nyanasamvara for promoting education, campaigning for hospitals and schools in rural areas and sponsoring the establishment of temples and monasteries outside Thailand.

Rajan Zed, who praised Patriarch Nyanasamvara’s interest in meditation techniques, mourning his death, extended heartfelt sympathy at this time of great sorrow to his country, followers and family.

Over 90% of Thais are Buddhists.

Nyanasamvara was born in 1913 in western Thai province of Kanchanaburi.
